Safety and Hygiene Courses

 

We have an extensive range of safety and hygiene related courses available, all designed to help you comply with regulations, maintain high standards of care for your service users and maintain a high standard of compliance to your own internal procedures.

Course Duration
Basic Food Hygiene ~ ½ Day

Temperature control, Personal Hygiene, Storage of Foods, HACCP Legislation, Bacteria (& Food Poisoning)

Basic First aid At Work Course for Individual ~ 1 Day

To define what is meant by First Aid
To identify correct procedures in the event of recovery position being required
To be able to competently perform BLS & be assessed on training manikin
Gain knowledge of emergency situations ie bleeding, shock, resuscitation, burns and choking
Must be taken every 3 years to retain the certificate.

Basic Health and Safety ~ ½ Day

Induction Standard 3: Legislation, H& S responsibilities; Incident / Accident Reporting. Risk Assessment, Common Hazards / COSHH, Policy & Procedure

Fire Safety Awareness Training ~ ½ Day

Potential causes of Fire, How to prevent Fire, Policy & Procedure, What types of Fire are they used for?, What to do in the event of a Fire, What Fire equipment do you have?

First Aid at Work (Appointed Person) Certificate for Individual ~ 3 Days

To define what is meant by First Aid.

Gain knowledge of emergency situations i.e. bleeding, shock, resuscitation, burns and choking.
Needs 2 x assessors and an exam.

First Aid (Appointed Person) Update Course ~ 2 Day

Every three years the first aid "Appointed Person" must renew their certificate, this 2 day course provides this update.

Infection Control ~ ½ Day

Most commonly found infections including MRSA, C. Diff etc., Symptoms & Treatments, Control Measures / Management, P P E , Personal Hygiene, Waste Management, Control Teams / Support

Manual Handling of Persons and Load Management ~ 1 Day

The process of handling loads in the workplace. Load handling injuries and the activities which cause them. Load Handling assessment, Manual Handling Operations Regs 1992, Communication, considering different types of equipment eg hoists, moving & handling belts. Practical and Theory
